Chowdhury edit

Mayank Chowdhury (India) - 16 Cases

I am presently working at Mayflower Women’s Hospital, Ahmedabad, Western India, where I have the privilege of heading the Fetal Medicine Department. My journey with TheFetus.net over the last 20 years that has been one of continuous learning, reflection, and professional growth. A journey that remains as relevant and enriching today as it was when I first began. The way I observe, analyze, and interpret fetal medicine cases has been profoundly shaped by the structured, practical, and unbiased approach advocated by TheFetus.net.

I began my professional career in Mehsana, and my formative schooling years were spent in Modasa. These early environments instilled in me a strong sense of discipline, curiosity, and commitment to learning. In an age where information is overflowing on the internet, true knowledge is rare. Among countless online resources, TheFetus.net stands apart for its authentic, case-based teaching, meticulous real-world workups, and a selfless philosophy of sharing knowledge without commercial intent. This vision was laid down decades ago by Professor Jeanty, long before digital learning became fashionable, and his legacy continues to guide clinicians across generations and continents.

Beyond medicine, my childhood love for mountains, rivers, and lakes shaped my appreciation for calmness, balance, and perspective—values that I carry into my professional life. I am deeply fond of travel, reading, and cycling, and during my ultrasound examinations, I constantly listen to Hindi and other music, which helps maintain focus and composure. Medicine has given me far more than a profession; it has offered the opportunity to meet inspiring individuals, learn from diverse minds, and build meaningful human connections.

At the heart of everything lies my family, whose unwavering support gives purpose to all professional achievements. I remain deeply grateful to Prof. S. Suresh, Dr. Indrani Suresh, and the entire Mediscan team, whose mentorship and vision have been instrumental in shaping this journey.

With the introduction of fetoscopic surgery, our center has now evolved into a comprehensive, one-stop solution for fetal care. Our mission extends beyond diagnosis and intervention—we strive to safeguard life before birth and to contribute, in our own way, to making the unborn healthier, happier, and more hopeful.

With sincere gratitude and warm wishes,
from the Mayflower Family, Ahmedabad.

Cheryl Turner (United States) - 7 Cases

I'm a sonographer proud to have worked with Philippe for over 30 years and even more proud to call him a mentor and best friend. I have so many memories and stories about him I could talk for hours. I Just hope some of his genius and compassion rubbed off on me. A true giant in the field. So humble that in all of our years together, I never knew of most of his early accomplishments until I read the tribute to him by Dr. Romero that was published after his passing. None of the staff or patients called him Dr. He introduced himself as Philippe to everyone. They say never meet your heros.... well in his case, I promise no one was ever disappointed. He treated the janitor with the same respect as the Chairman of the Department. I am forever changed by his presence in my life.
