Case report

A 17-year-old woman, G3P2, (90 kg, 160 cm), was referred to our antenatal unit at 23 weeks of gestation for a second opinion ultrasound. There was no known family history of congenital diseases. 

Our examination revealed:
- a cystic structure within the urinary bladder on the right side (10 mm) - supporting the diagnosis of the right ureterocele;
- enlargement of the right kidney with moderate pyelectasia;
- normal amount of the amniotic fluid.

The newborn was delivered at 38 weeks and the findings were confirmed. The neonate had undergone an operation of the ureterocele and is doing well. A few days after operation the kidneys looked normal.
