Trisomy 21, atrioventricular septal defect

Case report
A 42-year-old nullipara was scanned at 17 weeks of her gestation. Atrioventricular septal defect, mild pyelectasis, hyperechoic bowel and enlarged nuchal fold were detected. Karyotype showed Down syndrome and the pregnancy was terminated.

Images 1, 2: 17 weeks of gestation, trisomy 21. The image 1 shows enlarged nuchal skin of the fetus. The image 2 shows mild pyelectasis of the fetus.
