This is the first pregnancy [from an in-vitro- fertilization] of a 38 year old woman. She was scanned at 11 weeks and was found to have dichorionic twin gestation. One of the twins showed an omphalocele. The patient decided to continue the pregnancy.
At 24 weeks, however, the twin with omphalocele died. The second twin showed normal growth.
