Kidney duplication

This is a 1.6 MB video clip showing a case of kidney duplication. Notice that the upper pole is hydronephrotic and that the parenchyma is thinned down. The upper pole ureter is distended.

In the second part of the clip it is possible to see it going down all the way to the bladder. The lower portion of the kidney is only a little distended, because of the compression from the upper pole, and its ureter is not visible.

In these cases it is important to look for the presence of ureterocele, which was not found in this baby.
