Case report

This is a case of a 37 year old G2 P0 who was scanned at our department at 29 weeks of gestation. Our exam revealed hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Patient underwent amniocentesis and the result was a normal karyotype 46 XY. Unfortunately, baby died 10 days after delivery.

Images 1,2: 4-chamber view show a very small left cavity, the apex of the heart is formed by the right ventricle.

Images 3,4: Image 3 shows a right outflow tract, pulmonary artery. Image 4 shows a 3-vessel view, note the difference between pulmonary (1) and aortic diameter (2).
