Case report
Interstitial portion of the fallopian tube is less frequently a site of the extrauterine pregnancy. During the last ten months of the year 2008 we had 45 patients with extrauterine pregnancy. In 43 cases (95.6%) the pregnancy was located in ampullar or isthmic portions of the fallopian tube. Only in two cases (4.4%) the extrauterine pregnancy was located in the interstitial part of the fallopian tube. These two cases are presented here.
Case 1
Images 1, 2: The image 1 shows the sac of the extrauterine pregnancy located within the in the myometrium of the right uterine corner. The endometrium of the uterus was thick (17.7 mm) and hyperechoic. The gestational sac measured 34.5 x 31.8 mm). The image 2 shows the embryo within the gestational sac (CRL 8.2 mm, corresponding to 6 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy).
