Case report

This is a 32-year-old patient , second pregnancy, with normal first trimester screening. Her first pregnancy was uneventful.

At 22 weeks the scan was suggestive of duodenal stenosis, with "double bubble" sign , no other anomalies, normal amniotic fluid. Karyotype was performed and was normal 46XX. The pregnancy continued with no problems and normal amniotic fluid.

The baby was delivered at term, postnatal X-Ray studies and clinical signs were concordant with the diagnosis. The baby underwent surgery which confirmed duodenal web with stenosis. Postoperative course was favourable.

The images and video clip are of the 22-week scan and shows the typical double bubble with dilation of the proximal duodenum and communication with the stomach.
