Ovarian cyst, 30-38 weeks

Case report

A 27-year-old woman underwent ultrasound examination in our facility at 30, 34, and 38 weeks of her pregnancy. Her previous ultrasonographic examinations were normal. Our ultrasound found a predominantly cystic structure within fetal pelvis. Ovarian cyst was suspected. The neonate was delivered via Cesarean section (3360 g, Apgar 9, 10) with distended abdomen and signs of intestinal occlusion and torsion of the ovarian cyst. The newborn underwent a surgery, but unfortunately died on the fifth postnatal day due to infectious complications.
