Obstetrical and gynecological department of the Central Military Hospital in Ruzomberok, Slovak Republic.

This is a 30 year old G4, P2 with insignificant medical history. She presented to our department for the first time at 33 weeks of pregnancy and these are the scans that were obtained.

Axial scan of the fetal head: missing cavum septum pellucidum, enlarged interhemispheric space

Axial scan of the fetal head: teardrop configuration of the lateral ventricles (disproportionate enlargement of occipital horns – so called colpocephaly)
 

Coronal scan of the fetal head: the third ventricle is displaced upward to the place of the missing corpus callosum and reaches superiorly at the level of lateral ventricles. The third ventricle is displaced upward and touches the falx cerebri which is clearly visible in the detail window.
